Today Amazon Web Services rolled out a new service called Amazon SNS - the Amazon Simple Notification Service. enStratus has been working on integrating this new offering into our services and have some exciting items to talk about whether or not you use Amazon as your primary cloud.
The most immediate impact for enStratus customers will be enStratus alert integration with Amazon SNS. You will have the option of publishing alerts to SNS and then setting up systems to subscribe to the alerts. The systems subscribing to these alerts can be email addresses not in enStratus or your own alert management applications.
Amazon SNS will also form an optional component of enStratus integration into Microsoft System Center. In particular, if you are leveraging enStratus outside of your firewall and want alerting routed through Microsoft System Center behind your firewall, we will be providing a management pack for subscribing to enStratus alerts from SNS. For customers with enStratus deployments behind the corporate firewall, we will also be providing more direct integration.
In the near term, we also intend to enable customers to manage SNS through the enStratus console so that our customers can take advantage of Amazon SNS for their own uses.
